Q helps organizations untangle their most impossible problems

Beyond the daily puzzles that occupy everyone’s time and attention, top management teams will always wrestle with problems which are mind-boggling and enduring. In fact, your organization is just as likely to confront these problems today and 20 years from now. We call these the “impossible problems.”

What are examples of impossible, enduring problems?  Here are a few.  Extracting more value from your company’s stored knowledge. Accelerating your organization’s pace of innovation and invention. Finding new ways to stimulate the regional economy.  Improving health care programs.  Making your Board of Directors more effective.  Winning the war for top talent.

Of course, just because some problems feel impossible doesn’t mean they aren’t worthy of your continued attention and investment.  Sometimes the greatest breakthroughs come from creatively tackling those problems which seem unsolvable and intractable. In today’s volatile and unpredictable world, we believe that “cracking the code” on these impossible problems requires nothing less than truly innovative approaches coupled to brave, bold ideas.  This in turn requires assembling the very best talent in the world, and then organizing that talent around the problem in a way that unlocks important new insights and solutions.

Why Q?

Most professional firms aren't set up to either tackle your impossible problems or bring you the very best talent in the world. Instead, they are designed to conservatively bite off problems with a very high probability of success and sell you talent that lives inside their firm, because their economic model is driven by adding immediate bottom-line value while keeping only their own professionals busy.

Q is very different. First, our founders are risk takers and innovators by nature. We are willing to take substantial risks in return for the enormous rewards that come with transforming the impossible into the possible. We start with your most complicated problems, source the very best people or firms, and add our own rigorous facilitation approach that comes to life across four integrated programs: Q Community, Q Roundtables, Q Alliances and Q Custom.

We are particularly skilled in bringing together people with radically different points of view: experts from the business, academic, political, scientific, creative and capital communities and finding ways to have them collaborate productively, despite the fact that they come with different approaches and passions. We welcome the opportunity to help you address your organization’s most impossible problems.
